The ITRR International Internship Experience can be conducted either from one's home institution or at our office in Jerusalem. Participants assist the world's leading terrorism and intelligence experts while earning valuable work-experience and academic credit. ITRR Co-Directors, Michael Perelman and Aaron Richman, believe an internship of this caliber not only enhances the overall mission of ITRR, but adds a unique, yet necessary component to identifying global threats. "We wanted to develop a program that prepares the learner to think critically, be creative, and assess global threat situations in a succint manner," says ITRR's Joseph Palmieri. "It is important that we act as facilitators of learning and part of that commitment is to design small interactive online classrooms which promote a sense of engaged learning." Each online classroom is facilitated by an instructor with an extensive background in counter-terrorism and region-specific expertise. The student initially spends the first several weeks learning about information-gathering techniques, best practices of research, and creating writing briefs to strengthen critical-thinking and interpretation skills. "We are growing, and that's exciting," states co-Director Aaron Richman. "An international internship offers learners specialized experience that puts them in prime position for obtaining a successful career." Details such as exact location, duration of the experience, and which learning-components make up the internship is completely customizable.
